All my guests love this place.
Really, it's hard to believe this is located right in central Pretoria.
Wine per glass is equal to bottle price in quality. You never get this anywhere.
In other words - exceptional value.
The flat breads we had were absolutely delicious.
What better way to spend an afternoon than looking over nature.
This is on my TOP LIST in Pretoria.

After an expedition into the depths of the suburbs, I ended up in this culinary gem. The pond in front of the restaurant was pure nature cinema:
grey herons, cranes and unknown aquatic creatures.
The entrance area, rustic to rickety, led to a well designed dining room. The food was terrific, the service top-notch, the non-alcoholic beer convincing. Chicken burgers and apple pie were a delight. And all of that in an hour!
Conclusion: Five stars. Adventurous gourmets, watch out!

You have an option of inside or outside dining. We opted for the outside area, shaded by lovely old trees with a view af the bird sanctuary.
The indoors area have a view of the dam.
An abundance of birds in the sanctuary, chirping away.
Dog friendly area. Does not feel if you are in the middle of Pretoria, quiet and tranquil. Short hiking trails through the sanctuary. Rustic feel to the outdoors area, inside is more upmarket. Friendly waiters. Food are well prepared and tasty. Cappuccino were nice and strong. Safe parking.

We booked a venue with blue crane for 20 guests and chose a set menu. The food was excellent from starters to dessert. The service we received was amazing. We didn’t wait long for anything. Lastly the atmosphere was great. It’s a nice place to take children to as the ducks and animals keep them occupied. Would rate this place an 11/10 and would 100% visit them again!

A HIDDEN GEM! This place has breath taking scenery and excellent service. The food is delicious and affordable. I will definitely return. This has been my best discovery in Pretoria. The Blue Crane Restaurant has left a huge smile and full belly to this Cape Townian. Keep up the good work.

What a lovely chance discovery! We visited CIPC in Sunnyside, and had to revive ourselves after another frustrating encounter. The Blue Crane restaurant overlooks a dam, and the tranquility of Muscovy ducks floating carelessly on the dam was medicine to our souls. The food was excellent and the service very good. This place is huge, with outdoor seating under trees, and a lovely warm fireplace indoors. We sat on the covered veranda, not too cold, from where we could view the dam. Prices are reasonable, and we felt revived and refreshed when we left. I fully recommend the Blue Crane Restaurant in Groenkloof!

What a way to celebrate Mother's Day. Best view and fantastic staff. The food from the 'on Arrival' to desserts was fantastic.
